About Digha
Digha, on the Bay of Bengal near the Odisha border, is the beach holiday everyone in eastern India knows. Old Digha has a busy promenade and shops; New Digha has a wide, gentle beach that is good for families. Fresh seafood, sunset walks and the evening bustle on the sea face are what Digha is about.
Digha now also has a grand Jagannath temple, opened in 2025, which draws pilgrims as well as holidaymakers. Nearby beaches like Udaipur, Talsari, Shankarpur and Mandarmani are quieter, and make Digha a good base for a few relaxed days.
